About Us

Bub's at the Ballpark adds to downtown San Diego's historic vibe — melding East Village and Petco Park energy with a building crafted from reclaimed wood, scrap metal, and reused brick. Locals and visitors gather to catch games on over 40 TVs, relax at community tables or our giant circle bar, and enjoy 32 beers on tap alongside famous crispy Tater Tots and Backyard Grilled Wings.

Born in 1998 as "Another Man's Stupid Idea of Fun" in Pacific Beach, Bub's expanded downtown in 2011 and has been a beloved community staple ever since.

In the heart of San Diego's Ballpark District, Bub's proudly partners with Major League Baseball and the Padres, whose journey began as a 1968 National League Franchise in Mission Valley and evolved with the hit debut of Petco Park in 2004. Since opening in 2011, we've celebrated one tater tot at a time — because we love the game, our Padres, and San Diego (even if we've only had two rained-out games in 12 seasons)!
